How does Ozone act in treatment of non-healing leg ulcers?

• Increases Oxygen release at tissue level by increasing 2, 3 DPG

C. Germicidal Ozone
Ozone has powerful bactericidal, fungicidal and virostatic properties that are widely used in disinfecting infected wounds.
• Ozone attacks PUFA in the bacterial cell membrane causing alternation of the membrane. This increases its porosity leading to cell damage, cell rupture and death.
• Indirectly, by activating macrophages and T cells, it leads to phagocytes and antibody production; effectively killing the bacteria.
• Ozone induces synthesis of IFN which blocks viral replication.
• Ozone in a higher concentration attacks fungi.
3. Increases and activates body’s own antioxidants and radical scavengers
