Comments on Heart Diseases and Therapies

Chelation therapy is far safer and much less expensive than surgical treatment of atherosclerosis. Chelation therapy might eliminate the need for bypass surgery and is equally valid when used as preventive treatment. ---- Dr. Linus Pauling, Two time Nobel Prize winner

Many cardiologists may tell angina patients: ‘If you do not have heart surgery, you are going to die. There are no alternatives.’ In most cases, this is simply not true. For most patients, there is a safer, more effective, less expensive alternative. Ultimately improve their long-term prognosis.---- Dr. Julian Whitaker, M.D.

But the medical establishment mounts enormous pressure on patients to go through these procedures. (i.e. bypass surgery or angioplasty) It usually starts with an angiogram test, the first step on the conveyor belt to more procedures. Heart patients feel threatened and vulnerable, and they tend to agree to the surgery that the cardiologist recommends, even though it may not ultimately improve their long-term prognosis.---- Dr. Ronald Hoffman, M.D

Fully half of the bypass operations performed in the United States are unnecessary. A decade of scientific study has shown that except in certain well defined situations, bypass surgery does not save lives, or even prevent heart attacks: among patients who suffer from coronary disease, those who are treated without surgery enjoy the same survival rates as those who undergo open heart surgery.---- Dr. Thomas A. Preston, M.D.

The results (of the chelation therapy), taken by my mother against my advise) were so dramatic that I no longer could be honest with my patients when I told them that surgery was the only answer to their vascular insufficiency problem (coronary, brain, legs, etc.). Not only did her TIA,s (transient ischemic attacks) clear up but she seemed to grow 10 years younger. Her health improved in EVERY way!---- Dr. Walt Stoll, M.D.

Bypass surgery, angioplasty, and even diagnostic angiograms are so over used that, in my opinion, it constitutes criminal behavior by the cardiologists and surgeons involved. Well controlled scientific studies have shown bypass surgery simply doesn't work, except to relieve severe chest pain. Those who have the surgery didn't even have a trend of longevity benefit compared to those treated without it. Yet, each year hundreds of thousands cave into the obvious fear tactics used by aggressive heart doctors and submit to the bypass operation---- Julian Whitaker, M.D.
